Eric Helfand is an entrepreneurial real estate development professional with over 20 years of experience navigating multiple economic cycles to deliver exceptional results. Specializing in value-add strategies, Eric has a proven track record in managing the full transaction lifecycle—from sourcing off-market deals to executing successful exits. His expertise spans underwriting, creative structuring, and disciplined asset management, with a focus on maximizing returns while minimizing risks.

Eric’s asset class experience includes office, industrial, self-storage, healthcare, and residential properties. He has been instrumental in developing large-scale portfolios and shaping new markets. At Farpoint Development, where he was a founding principal, he helped expand the company to 16 properties totaling over 10.8 million square feet with a projected value exceeding $5.2 billion. At Sterling Bay, Eric was a core team member, scaling the company to a $1 billion+ portfolio and contributing to the development of Chicago’s renowned Fulton Market district.

Eric is a Certified Public Accountant with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Indiana University. Beyond his professional accomplishments, he serves on the board of the Israel Cancer Research Fund and actively supports organizations like the Greater Chicago Food Depository and Humble Design.
